Training on Agenda 2030 and SDGs for the staff of the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council
During the months of March to June 2021, we have carried out training and awareness-raising sessions for some 400 people from all departments of the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council.
The aim of the sessions was to train and raise awareness among municipal staff about the context of the Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals, to find out what issues are addressed at local level in each of the SDGs and to reflect on how they contribute to the Goals in their day-to-day work.
The sessions, which were very participative, offered numerous reflections that reinforce the cross-cutting nature of the 2030 Agenda and the capacity of local governments, in this case, the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council, to ‘localise’ these goals and bring them closer to the citizens.
The ultimate goal of this training process is ‘learning by doing and putting into practice’.
